:At a recent luncheon meeting, Wendy Wareing, the newly elected Group President, introduced a former Penguin Club member as the guest speaker. Lol’s chosen topic was “Do you know where you came from?” Her stimulating presentation evoked memories of the past and thought provoking suggestions for the future. Lol, who is President of the local Lions Club, demonstrated the skills she obviously had gained as a Penguin Club Member, a fact not overlooked by the Noosa Group members in attendance.
Recognition was also given to our Group Advisor and Life Member, Cecily Fearnley whose photograph and story appeared on the front page of the Noosa News that day. Cecily has been chosen by a local artist as the subject for her entry into the Archibald Portrait Prize. Cecily’s achievements were outlined in the supporting brief and we were delighted to read that Cecily was acknowledged as a “life member of the Penguin Club of Australia (a women’s speaking group).”
The Noosa Group encourage all local women to join us and benefit from the skills the Penguin Club of Australia can provide towards your confidence building and self development when speaking in the community.
